'The Lego Movie' Crushes Box Office Competition for Third Consecutive Week

The Lego Movie continued to smash the box office numbers with a $31.5 million gross this weekend!

According to THR, the flick, which stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman, pushed its domestic total to $183.2 million!

Kevin Costner‘s new thriller 3 Days to Kill came in at No. 2 with a modest $12.3 million opening.

Taking third place was Pompeii, which stars Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Emily Browning, and brought in $10 million, compared to its $100 million budget.

Rounding out the top five were Sony’s RoboCop reboot, starring Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, and Samuel L. Jackson, and George Clooney‘s star-studded film The Monuments Men, bringing in $9.4 million and $8.1 million, respectively.

'The Lego Movie' Dominates at President's Weekend Box Office

The Lego Movie continued to smash the box office competition with a $48.8 million three-day gross for President’s Day weekend!

According to THR, the flick, which stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman, is expected to post a four-day gross north of $60 million.

Kevin Hart‘s new romantic comedy About Last Night came in at No. 2, earning an impressive $27 million in its first week of release.

Sony’s RoboCop reboot, starring Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, and Samuel L. Jackson, took the third spot with $21.5 million.

Rounding out the top five were George Clooney‘s star-studded film The Monuments Men and Alex Pettyfer‘s new romance Endless Love, bringing in $15 million and $13.4 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Winter’s Tale, starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Matt Bomer, took in a disappointing $7.8 million.

'The Lego Movie' Smashes Weekend Box Office Over George Clooney's 'The Monuments Men'

The Lego Movie opened big at its first weekend at the box office with a whopping $69.1 million gross, according to THR.

The flick stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman, and is the second biggest opening of all time for the month of February.

George Clooney‘s star-studded film The Monuments Men came in at No. 2 with $22.7 million earned. The movie boasts a cast of Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, and Cate Blanchett.

The buddy-cop comedy Ride Along stayed strong in third place with an additional $9.4 million, bringing its total to $105.2 million.

Rounding out the top five were Disney’s Frozen and Lone Survivor, bringing in $6.9 million and $5.7 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Vampire Academy, starring Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry, and Dominic Sherwood, came in below expectations at No. 7 with $4.1 million.
