James Marsden Reveals What 'The Notebook' Fans Used to Tell Him

James Marsden steps out looking so dapper on Wednesday night (February 12) in New York City.

The following day, the Sonic the Hedgehog actor stopped by Good Morning America to do some promo work for the film, hitting theaters this weekend.

He was asked about being in The Notebook as Hal, the other man in the film competing for Ally’s love.

“When the movie became such a phenomenon, people would come up to me on the street and be like, ‘Why were you trying to get in their way?! They were supposed to be together,’” James said.

“It was like, ‘Ahh, I didn’t do anything,’” he added. “‘It was a job. I don’t know.’”

“I thought he was a good guy,” James continued. “But, I think it’s a testament to the movie that the chemistry between Ryan and Rachel, it was, you know…”

Netflix UK's Version of 'The Notebook' Has Different Ending, Streaming Service Explains Why

The Notebook is a fan favorite film starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, and by now, you probably know how it ends.

The film is supposed to end with older Noah and Allie (played by James Garner and Gena Rowlands) dying in bed together as she remembers him for a moment before they pass.

Well, fans in the United Kingdom noticed that The Notebook was uploaded to Netflix in the region and has a completely different ending!

In this version, the film just abruptly ends with footage of birds flying over a lake, according to fans on Twitter.

Netflix UK sent out a tweet after getting numerous complaints.

'The Notebook' Musical Adaptation in the Works From Ingrid Michaelson!

Ingrid Michaelson is writing a musical adaptation of The Notebook, the popular Nicholas Sparks book and movie!

“When I was approached about working on The Notebook I had to excuse myself and go to the bathroom and cry and come back into the meeting,” Ingrid said in a statement. “I have loved the movie and the story for so many years now that the idea of turning it into a musical overwhelmed me. The concept of unending devotion and love wrapped up in memory and family is something very close to my own personal life…I cannot wait for the world to hear these characters come to life in a musical way.”

Ingrid went on the Today show to announce the big news!

If you don’t know, The Notebook was a 2004 movie starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. The musical is aiming for a Broadway run.

'The Notebook' Television Series In Development at The CW!

A television version of Nicholas Sparks‘ romantic drama The Notebook is in the works at The CW network, EW reports!

The official log line for the show is as follows: This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.

The 2004 film version of The Notebook starred Rachel McAdams as Allie and Ryan Gosling as Noah.
