The now-22-year-old One Direction singer was just 14 at the time of his first audition in 2008 in front of Cheryl and the panel of judges.
He later got cut because Simon Cowell thought he was too young, so Liam auditioned again in front of Cheryl when he was 16 in 2010.
Liam blew them away with his cover of “Cry Me A River,” written by Arthur Hamilton and made famous by several different artists over the years, including Michael Buble.
“You definitely got it, whatever it is that you got it. I thought your voice was really, really powerful,” Cheryl told Liam at the time.
