Thomas Markle is speaking out about his strained relationship with daughter Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (aka Meghan Markle) and Prince Harry.

The former lighting director spoke out in a Daily Mail interview on Sunday (December 9).

“I have been frozen out and I can’t stay silent. I have made dozens of attempts to reach my daughter via text and letters, but she and Harry have put up a wall of silence. They have done what they once told me not to do – they are believing everything negative that has been written about me. So I am reaching out to them, once again, to try to correct the lies and get the truth out there,” he said.

“Everyone says, why don’t I just shut the f–k up? That Meghan can’t speak to me because I’ll give away secrets. But that’s bulls–t. I’ve been accused of every terrible thing you can think of. In one magazine they had an awful story about Prince Charles right beside one about me. But no one is shunning Prince Charles.”

“I’m hurt by what’s happened but I’m not going to stay silent,” he added.

Duchess Meghan Markle‘s father, Thomas Markle, has revealed how he found out about the royal pregnancy news and also spoke about where he was when he found out – crossing the US/Mexico border.

“I was sitting in line waiting to cross the border when I heard the baby announcement on the car radio. The first thing I thought about was holding Meghan in my arms as a newborn 37 years ago. I thought, ‘My baby is having a baby.’ It was a very proud moment,” Thomas told The Mail on Sunday.

“I was filled with love, joy and happiness for both my beautiful daughter and my son-in-law. A new baby is a blessing and I look forward to seeing a little Meghan or a little Harry,” he continued.

Thomas added, “I wasn’t surprised by the baby announcement. Meghan loves children and she and Harry have been talking about wanting a family from the start. I’m delighted for them both. She’s always been wonderful with children and most of her friends have families so she’s used to being around kids. She will make a fantastic mother.”

Thomas has spoken extensively to the press about his daughter (in one memorable interview, he exclaimed that she looked terrified in her new role in the spotlight.) Thomas famously missed the royal wedding after he suffered a heart attack.

Thomas Markle is not backing away and is speaking about his daughter, Duchess Meghan Markle, once again in the press.

In a new interview with Mail on Sunday, Thomas, 74, revealed that he’s upset he’s been cut off from the Duchess and the Royal family.

‘I’m really hurt that she’s cut me off completely. I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the Palace, but after I said a few critical words about the Royal Family changing Meghan, they cut me off,” he said.

“Meghan was apparently upset with me for saying that she and Harry will probably have a baby soon. But Meghan’s been saying that herself for the past six or seven years, talking about how much she wants a family. Harry‘s been saying it too. That’s fine. But the moment I say it, I’m persona non grata,” he said.

“I tell you, I’ve just about reached my limit with Meghan and the Royal Family. They want me to be silent, they want me to just go away. But I won’t be silenced. I refuse to stay quiet. What riles me is Meghan‘s sense of superiority. She’d be nothing without me. I made her the Duchess she is today. Everything that Meghan is, I made her,” he added.

This isn’t the first interview Thomas has given expressing his frustration with the royal family. He previously expressed concern for the Duchess in her new role.

If you don’t know, Thomas spoke to the press over the weekend and said he believes his daughter is terrified of her new life as a royal.

Now, Thomas is speaking to TMZ to continue speaking about what he wants.

“I was silent for a full year and the press beat me up every day saying I was a hermit hiding in Mexico, so I gave my story. Apparently that interview put the Royal Family in their silence mode … so, I gave another interview to break the silence,” Thomas said. His message to the royals? “All they have to do is speak to me.”

Thomas continued, “[Today] is my birthday, 74 years old, and I’m enjoying the fact that I can make the entire Royal Family not speak and maybe I can get a laugh out of the Duchess.”

Thomas Markle, who is the father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has given an interview about his daughter’s new life as a royal in her marriage to Prince Harry.

“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified,” Thomas told UK’s The Sun. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile. I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile—this is a pained smile.”

“That might be just having a couple of bad days. I don’t know. It really worries me. I think she’s under too much pressure. There’s a high price to pay to be married to that family,” he continued.

“Why in 2018 are we dressing like the 1930s?” he said. “Why do they have to cover their knees?” Thomas continued.

In addition, he said he’s had no contact with his daughter since his first tell-all interview after her wedding.

“Since the interview, the phone number that I call doesn’t work anymore,” he continued. “The, I guess, liaison with the royal family never answers back, and there’s no address I can write to so I have no way of contacting my daughter.”

“My message [to her] would be, ‘I love you, I miss you, I’m sorry for anything that went wrong,’” he added . “And I want to be her [future] child’s grandfather and I want to be near them. I want to be a part of their life. I’d like to put our differences behind us and get together. I miss you very much.”
