We have some super sad news – Matt Bomer‘s hit series White Collar is going to end after the upcoming sixth season, according to Deadline.

The series will get a six episode final season that will pick up after the major cliffhanger of last season’s finale that saw Matt‘s character Neal Caffrey get abducted.

The reason for ending the series is that it is very costly for the USA Network as the network is responsible for all of the show’s budget, though it does not own the series.

Matt will star as famous old Hollywood actor Montgomery Clift in an upcoming biopic about his life.

Montgomery was a strict method actor who kept his personal life very private – Matt was reportedly very interested in the role, according to Deadline.

Larry Moss will direct a script by Christopher Lovick with a 2014 start date in mind.

The 34-year-old actor’s hit series will return to the USA network with a brand new season on Tuesday (July 10).

Matt Bomer and his White Collar co-star Tim DeKay hit the red carpet at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Wednesday (January 11) in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old actor hit the stage during the show with 24‘s Elisha Cuthbert to present the award for Favorite Comedy Movie to the summer hit Bridesmaids.

Fashion Star mentors Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie arrive at NBC Universal’s 2012 Winter TCA Tour All-Star Party on Friday (January 6) in Pasadena, Calif.

Matt Bomer and his White Collar co-stars arrive at the USA Upfronts, held at The Tent at Lincoln Center on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 33-year-old actor was joined by Tim DeKay, Hilarie Burton, and Marsha Thomason.

Over the weekend, Matt took part in the Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk for Women in Times Square in the city!

Other celebs taking part in the run/walk, which raises funds to benefit women’s cancer research, were Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel.
