Michelle Obama is greeted by a standing ovation as she makes a surprise appearance at the 2017 ESPY Awards on Wednesday (July 12) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The former First Lady attended the event to present the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

Michelle was joined on stage by athletes from the Special Olympics as they honored the organizations founder for her lifelong commitment to children and adults living with intellectual disabilities.
“Through her passionate service, she made the world more welcoming and fair,” Michelle said as she presented the award to Eunice‘s son Timothy Shriver.
