Tom Brady's 'GQ' Man of the Year Interview Turns Awkward When Asked About Deflategate

Tom Brady is as suave as ever on the cover of GQ‘s Man of the Year issue for December 2015.

Here’s what the 38-year-old Super Bowl winning NFL quarterback had to share with the mag:

On Deflategate: “I’m not talking about that, because there’s still ongoing litigation. It has nothing to do with the personal question that you’re trying to ask, or the answer you’re trying to get. I’m not talking about anything as it relates to what’s happened over the last eight months. I’ve dealt with those questions for eight months. It’s something that—obviously I wish that we were talking about something different. But like I said, it’s still going on right now. And there’s nothing more that I really want to add to the subject. It’s been debated and talked about, especially in Boston, for a long time.”

On refusing to answer deflategate questions: “Right now, in my current state in mid-October, dealing with the 2015 football season—I don’t have any interest in talking about those events as they relate to any type of distraction that they may bring to my team in 2015. I do not want to be a distraction to my football team. We’re in the middle of our season. I’m trying to do this as an interview that was asked of me, so… If you want to revisit everything and be another big distraction for our team, that’s not what I’m intending to do. I’ve already answered all those questions. I don’t want to keep revisiting what’s happened over the last eight months. Whether it’s you, whether it’s my parents, whether it’s anybody else. If that’s what you want to talk about, then it’s going to be a very short interview.

On if he would ever go into politics: “There is 0.000 chance of me ever wanting to do that. I just think that no matter what you’d say or what you’d do, you’d be in a position where you know, you’re politicking. You know? Like, I think the great part about what I do is that there’s a scoreboard. At the end of every week, you know how you did. You know how well you prepared. You know whether you executed your game plan. There’s a tangible score. I think in politics, half the people are gonna like you and half the people are not gonna like you, no matter what you do or what you say… It’s like there are no right answers. If there were, everyone would choose the right answers. They’re all opinions.”

Tom Brady Gushes Over Gisele Bundchen & His Three Kids

Tom Brady throws around a football at the TAG Heuer event to announce his new position as the brand ambassador on Tuesday (October 13) in New York City.

The 38-year-old New England Patriots Super Bowl winning quarterback was joined at the event by host Molly Sims and the brand’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver.

At the event, Tom gushed about his wife Gisele Bundchen.

“She’s my best friend. We spend as much time as we can together, and you know, it’s a busy life we have and we have three kids,” Tom told ET. “It’s busy schedules busy for me, [but] she still works a lot so don’t let that retirement fool you. She works more than any retired person I know.”

He also gushed about his three kids: John, 8, Benjamin, 5, and Vivian, 2.

“That is a tough job because it is a lot of work, and you know, when I’m home with the kids it’s exhausting,” Tom said about Gisele as a mom. “I can’t wait to get back to work. ‘Oh my God,’ I say. I need a break. Going back to a place where people actually listen to me, and you know, my 2-year-old old girl, she won’t listen to a word I say. I gotta get back to work and tell these 300-pounders what to do and they actually listen.”

Tom added about his kids, “They’re just the biggest blessing in my life. Not a day goes by that you don’t laugh or smile at something that they do.” More Here! »

Tom Brady Did Not Endorse Donald Trump for President

Tom Brady is denying that he publicly endorsed Republican candidate Donald Trump for president.

The 38-year-old New England Patriots quarterback and husband to model Gisele Bundchen previously displayed one of Trump‘s “Make America Great Again” hats in his locker on the day of the Republican debate.

“I hope so. It would be great,” Tom had reportedly said when asked if he thinks Trump has what it takes to run the country. “There would be a putting green on the White House lawn, I’m sure of that.”

In a new interview this week, Tom says his comments were taken out of context.

“Look, I’ve known him for a long time. He’s been a fun guy that I’ve had a lot of time around. The fact that he’s running, it’s obviously led to a lot of stories and debates, and I know the ratings were huge for all those Republican debates and so forth,” Tom said when asked if he was endorsing the candidate. “One way or the other, it’s so far away from when the election will be. And whatever I vote is going to be my own personal choice based on how I feel. I don’t even know what the issues are. I haven’t paid attention to politics in a long time. It’s actually not something that I really even enjoy. It’s way off my radar.”
