Synopsis: The drama tells the story of one young boy’s journey from heartbreaking loss to the healing power of self-discovery, set against the backdrop of the tragicevents of September 11. Eleven-year-old Oskar Schell is an exceptional child: amateur inventor, Francophile, pacifist. And after finding a mysterious key that belonged to his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11, he embarks on an exceptional journey – an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York. As Oskar roams the city, he encounters a motley assortment of humanity, who are all survivors in their own ways. Ultimately, Oskar’s journey ends where it began, but with the solace of that most human experience: love.

The Stephen Daldry-directed flick, which also stars Thomas Horn and Viola Davis, hits theaters December 25!

Halle Berry films some action scenes on the set of her latest movie Cloud Atlas on Friday (September 16) in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 45-year-old actress wore a thick down jacket as she ducked and crouched all around the set, hiding from her on-screen pursuer.

Later that same day, Tom Hanks arrived in costume showing some bare chest in a button down shirt!

Also pictured inside: Hugo Weaving holding a gun looking around the set menacingly.

Cloud Atlas is about six stories set in a different time and place that become intricately related to each other.

Look out for the film when it hits theatres in October, 2012.

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson look lovely together on the red carpet at the BAFTA Brits to Watch Gala held at the Belasco Theatre on Saturday (July 9) in Los Angeles.

The event will allow 42 British actors, directors, producers, and other industry professionals to rub shoulders with Hollywood executives.

Tom and Rita were joined on the carpet by their Larry Crowne co-star Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who wore a cobalt chiffon cap sleeve gown by Reem Acra.

Larry Crowne started off its second weekend at the box office at number six on the chart with an estimated $1.96 million.

Julia Roberts hits the red carpet at the premiere of her new film Larry Crowne held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday (June 27) in Hollywood.

The 43-year-old actress, in Gucci‘s midnight blue tweed pant suit with accompanying bustier, was joined at the event by her co-star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson.

Larry Crowne is about a Navy veteran (Hanks) who loses his job at a big-box store, enrolls in a community college, and falls in love with his Speech professor (Roberts).

Also pictured inside: Taraji P. Henson, who wore a Herve L Leroux dress with Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Here’s what the Larry Crowne co-stars and real-life BFFs had to share with the mag:

Julia on Tom directing her in the film: “God, no [I wasn't nervous]. We knew each other socially. When I was in Rome, shooting Eat Pray Love, Tom sent me the script and said, ‘Tell me what you think.’ I couldn’t stop smiling when I read it: It’s topical, but very positive.”

Julia on whether she’d ever be a director: “No. I can direct breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I take pride in my kitchen, but I’m not going to direct a movie.”

Tom on writing the role for Julia: “Yes. I had some teachers who looked like Julia. I would see them and think, I love you. So there was never anyone but Julia. Still, even after she said yes, I was the boss. That meant I got to say, ‘You don’t wear this dress, you wear that dress.’ And Julia’s Julia – she can be intimidating [Laughs].”

FYI: Julia is wearing a Dolce&Gabbana silk dress on the cover. She also rocked a Versace gown and a Giorgio Armani corset and skirt for the shoot.

Synopsis: After losing his job, Larry Crowne (Hanks) heads to his local college to start over. There he becomes part of a colorful community of outcasts, also-rans and the overlooked all trying to find a better future for themselves. In his public-speaking class, Larry develops an unexpected crush on his teacher, Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her husband.

The romantic comedy, which Tom also wrote and directed, hits theaters July 1.
