30 Rock will air live a episode on Oct. 14, NBC announced.
Not once, but twice so that both East and West Coast viewers get to see it that way!
NBC also is looking into more comedy programming on more nights other than its Thursday night sitcoms.
“I’m hopeful there is room for two comedies. They’re different, I think their audiences are different,” NBC president Jeff Gaspin said. “Our goal is to rebuild and get stronger.”

Tracy Morgan is looking devilish as one of GQ‘s three August 2010 cover stars (Zach Galifianakis and Paul Rudd are on the other two). Here are some select quotes from the three funnymen:
Paul on becoming a successful actor: “I’ve never considered myself to be too much of a comedian. I’ve never considered myself to be too much of anything. I just lucked out and got to work with some really funny people, and somehow have been able to parlay it into a lot of comedies.”
Zach on a love scene for a serious role: “I’ve had a scene where I’m supposed to kiss somebody, and I went for it with the actress. It was a movie called Visioneers, with Mia Maestro. Google her. She’s really nice. She was not going for it. I think a couple of takes I went in with my tongue already out of my mouth. It was like a plane coming in for a landing. And then it was as if someone had cemented her mouth shut.”
Zach on being built for comedy: “I used to be really cute. I could send you earlier photos where I’m stunning. But I’ve gained about twenty pounds over the past two years, and the more weight I’ve put on, the more success I’ve had. If you drew a diagram of weight gain and me getting more work, a mathematician would draw some conclusions from that.”
Tracy on how he would make Jay Leno‘s show funny: “A Russian bear on a bike. Riding around Christopher Cross as he sings ‘Sailing.’”

Adam Brody suits up in Theory as he co-star Tracy Morgan goes bold in a red jumpsuit at the premiere of their new action comedy, Cop Out, at NYC’s AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 on Monday night (February 22).
The pair posted with director Kevin Smith as well as co-stars Guillermo Diaz, Bruce Willis, Ana de la Reguera and Kevin Pollak.
Cop Out opens in theaters this Friday (February 26). It’s about two veteran cops (Willis and Morgan) who are tracking down a stolen vintage baseball card. On the chase, they rescue Gabriela (de la Reguera), dealing with gangsters and money laundering.
Adam‘s girlfriend, screenwriter Lorene Scafaria, is in town support her main man. They were seen passing through airport security together. (Lorene is probably visiting family and friends as well — she’s from Holmdel, NJ.)

Tracy Morgan disses some of his former SNL castmates in his hilarious new memoir, “I Am The New Black,” out October 20.
The 40-year-old 30 Rock star jokes, “None of the cast I came up with saw this future in me. … All I have to say about that is, where’s Chris Kattan now? Where’s Cheri Oteri now? That b—- can’t even get arrested.”
In a recent interview with GQ, Tracy is asked about overlap between himself and his 30 Rock character, Tracy Jordan. His answer: “Tracy Jordan is a part of Tracy Morgan; Tracy Morgan is not a part of Tracy Jordan. Again: Tracy Jordan is a part of Tracy Morgan; Tracy Morgan is not a part of Tracy Jordan. I’m not running around on the street in my underwear with a light saber… My stand-up is nothing like the TV show. My sense of humor is a turkey, and I pull it out of the oven and baste it in reality.
