Twenty One Pilots‘ Tyler Joseph has come under fire from fans after posting a joke about platforms, where he referenced his actual shoes.

The musician answered many fans’ calls about wanting him to use his voice on his platforms – his social media accounts – to address the political climate and racial injustice in the country.

“you guys keep asking me to use my platforms. feels good to dust these bad boys off,” he wrote, where he focuses the attention on the image of him wearing his very white shoes that are embellished with moons and stars.

Later on, Tyler went on to stand by and not apologize for it.

“I respect all the warriors out there fighting for different causes. there is honor in it, purpose, and it can make our world better. i just want to remind you what i’m fighting for: your mental health is more important today than it ever has been. you’re not alone,” he wrote, bringing the conversation to mental health.

He added, “you don’t know what someone else is going through. what other invisible weights they may be struggling to carry. keep that in mind as you go about your interactions, and take care of yourself, please.”

Fans weren’t happy with his joke or his subsequent tweets.

“the point is NOT that tyler joseph didnt use his platform for good. the point is that people asked him to stand by them, and he MOCKED them, then proceeded to rub it in that he is NOT sorry,” one user wrote about the issue.

Another added, “tyler joseph couldn’t speak out about not killing black people but he can make a joke at the expense of an entire movement can he at least pretend not to be racist.”

Tyler Joseph is speaking out – kind of.

The Twenty One Pilots star called into SiriusXM Hits 1′s The Morning Mash Up on Thursday (April 23), where he talked about their new single and video for “Level of Concern.”

During the conversation, Tyler was asked about Josh‘s relationship with fiancee Debby Ryan amid speculation after the release of their new video.

“Did Josh just run away and secretly get married? He was wearing a wedding ring in that video,” asked SiriusXM’s Nicole Ryan.

“Oh!” Tyler reacted, fixing his hair while suddenly getting up and walking away from the camera as the interviewers laughed and moved onto the next question.

Debby and Josh got engaged back in December 2018.

Twenty One Pilots is back with a new track.

The group released “Level of Concern” on Thursday (April 9) amid the ongoing global health crisis.

The song was written and recorded amid the pandemic, and “encourages hope during difficult times.”

An official music video, directed by longtime collaborator Reel Bear Media, was also released. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun will donate a portion of the proceeds from “Level of Concern” to Crew Nation, a global relief fund for live music crews which aims to help touring and venue crews affected by the pandemic.

Congrats are in order for Twenty One Pilots‘ Tyler Joseph and his wife Jenna.

The couple have revealed that they’re now parents to a baby daughter named Rosie.

“meet Ro,” Jenna posted on her Instagram with a cute video of the new family. “fresh out of the oven. Rosie Robert Joseph was born February 9th. Robert after Tylers middle name.”

She added another Instagram later, writing, “our daughter, Rosie 🤍⠀Ro and I are finding all the sunspots in our house.”

Tyler and Jenna announced they were expecting in September during Lollapalooza Berlin.

The 30-year-old Twenty One Pilots musician revealed the exciting news live in concert on Saturday night (September 7) at Lollapalooza Berlin in Germany.

During the set, Tyler brought out his wife, who had a visible baby bump.

“I know I said I’m bringing a couple people onstage, and that’s two,” he said before kissing her bump, followed by his wife for an adorable moment. Click here to see fan footage of the cute reveal!

Twenty One Pilots are back with their brand new studio album Trench, which you can listen to right here!

The highly anticipated studio album, the group’s first since 2015′s Blurryface, was released on Friday (October 5).

“Nico and the Niners” was released along with “Jumpsuit” earlier in the month ahead of their upcoming fifth studio album, Trench, which drops on October 5.

They’ll also be heading out on tour in support of the record beginning on October 6 in Nashville, Tenn.
