Gabby Douglas: Fierce Five Visit 'Letterman'

The Fierce FiveGabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, and Aly Raisman – are all smiles as they arrive at The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday (August 14) in New York City.

The girls each carried a red rose with them as they headed inside to record their segment.

Earlier that day, the team all got together and rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

During their day of press events, Aly, Gabby, Jordyn, Kyla, and McKayla even got to meet Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford!

Fierce Five Light Up Empire State Building

The Fierce FiveGabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, and Aly Raisman – stand on top of the world while viewing the skyline from the Empire State Building on Tuesday (August 14) in New York City.

“On top of the empire state building.. AMAZING!!!” Team captain Aly tweeted, and added, “This day keeps getting better and better! Having soooo much fun with the girls.”

After checking out the skyline of New York City, the Fierce Five headed back down to the lobby for the official lighting ceremony.

Fierce Five Celebrate Olympic Medals at adidas Lounge

The Fierce Five of the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics TeamJordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, and Gabby Douglas – show off their gold medals at the adidas Olympic Media Lounge at Westfield Stratford City on Wednesday (August 8) in London, England.

The girls all stopped at the USA House at the Royal College of Art the day before.

Aly Raisman & Jordyn Wieber: Floor Exercise Finals Results!

Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber of the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team compete in the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Floor Exercise final on Day 11 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at North Greenwich Arena on Tuesday (August 7) in London, England.

The gold medal went to Aly, 18, after she scored a 15.6 on her floor exercise routine. Catalina Ponor of Romania won the silver medal and Aliya Mustafina of Russia took home the bronze.

Jordyn ended up in seventh place and also discovered that she unfortunately may have a stress fracture in her right leg. We hope you get better soon, Jordyn!

McKayla Maroney Falls During Vault Finals, Wins Silver Medal

McKayla Maroney fails to land her dismount in the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Vault final on Day 9 of the 2012 Summer Olympics at North Greenwich Arena on Sunday (August 5) in London, England.

The 16-year-old gymnast, who performed a flawless vault earlier in the week to help the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team take home the gold in the Team final, ended up with the silver medal.

“I didn’t deserve to to win gold if I landed on my butt,” McKayla said (via USA Today). “I’m not disappointed about the silver, I’m disappointed about my performance.”

Sandra Raluca Izbasa of Romania took home the gold while Maria Paseka of Russia won bronze.

U.S. Women's Gymnastics Team Wins Gold Medal!

The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics TeamJordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, and Kyla Ross – raise their arms in victory during the medal ceremony at the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Team final on Day 4 of the 2012 Summer Olympics held at North Greenwich Arena on Tuesday (July 31) in London, England.

The girls took home the gold over the Russian and Romanian teams in the Team Finals with a total score of 183.596!

Gabby placed second on the vault, behind McKayla. Jordyn placed third on vault and team captain Aly took first place on the floor!

Women's Gymnastics Team Lead Qualifying Round at Olympics

The U.S. Women’s Gymnastics TeamJordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, and Kyla Ross – compete during the Artistics Gymnastics Women’s qualification during day 2 of the 2012 Summer Olympics on Sunday (July 29) at the North Greenwich Arena in London, England.

The ladies placed first with only Russia coming close to the team’s score. In the qualifying round for the All-Around Final, Jordyn was shut out of the competition when she made some uncharacteristic missteps. She was the favorite going into the competition.

Only two women from each country can compete in the All-Around Final. Aly, the U.S. team captain, and Gabby will compete for the United States!
