The production of Ugly Betty is definitely moving to New York City, announced Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Gov. David Paterson and ABC Studios President Mark Pedowitz.

The ABC series is moving from LA to NY in order to take advantage of the 35% tax credits from the city and state, which will create more than 200 full- and part-time jobs.

The move was joked about on Saturday Night Live this past weekend during Amy Poehler‘s Weekend Update: “Producers of the hit show Ugly Betty are in talks to relocate production of the show to New York City, where it is set. Which is odd, because I thought it was set on a gay spaceship.”

Here are the first official pictures of the hunky (and shirtless, of course) Eddie Cibrian from his guest spot on the hit ABC show, Ugly Betty.

Cibrian, 34, plays Coach Diaz, the gym teacher of Betty’s nephew, Justin (Mark Indelicato). He also plays the love interest of Betty’s older sister Hilda Suarez (Ana Ortiz). In the episode, Hilda confronts Coach Diaz when she learns Justin is flunking gym.

Here are the first official pictures of Lindsay Lohan playing a mean former classmate of Betty’s on the hit ABC show Ugly Betty.

Lindsay‘s character also reportedly works in the fast food industry. The 21-year-old singer/actress will also reprise her role next season in five additional episodes. It’s great to see Lindsay back to play family-friendly roles!

ABC is moving production for Ugly Betty from Los Angeles to New York next season, reports TV Guide.

The East Coast move will help cut production costs (“It’s generally cheaper to shoot in the city you’re trying to portray”) and give the show a more authentic New York feel.

Better yet, costars Vanessa Williams and Ana Ortiz are both from NY and Michael Urie graduated from Julliard.

“It’s a done deal,” says an insider. No more NYC green screen!

Costars Becki Newton and Michael Urie present the first-ever “Ugly Betty” Video Podcast.

The pair do a little song and dance inside the studio of the show’s composer, Jeff Biel. Cameos are made by David Blue, who plays Cliff, the boyfriend of Marc St. James (Urie) and Eric Mabius (magazine publisher Daniel Meade). Watch the video below!!!!!
