Usher is all smiles while making his way inside El Capitan Theater to make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday (August 25) in Los Angeles.
The 37-year-old entertainer talked about celebrating the Cleveland Cavaliers’ big win, promoted his latest film Hands of Stone, and announced that his eighth album Hard II Love will be released on September 16th.

Also in attendance at the event were Jennifer Lopez, Ciara, Usher, Chris Rock, Pharrell Williams, Jon Bon Jovi, Kimberly Nichole, Don Johnson and many more. The Roots acted as the band for the evening with lots of celeb performances. Additionally, businessman Ronald O. Perelman, New England Patriots CEO Robert Kraft, and Apollo president and CEO Jonelle Procope also stepped out to support.
The event raised $5 million to benefit the historic Harlem theater.
Usher is dapper as he strikes a pose a special fan screening of his latest film Hands Of Stone held at AMC Phipps Plaza on Wednesday (August 17) in Atlanta, Ga.
The same evening, the 37-year-old entertainer’s co-star Edgar Ramirez was joined by director Jonathan Jakubowicz, former professional boxer Roberto Duran and his son Robin at the Miami screening of the flick, which hits theaters on Friday (August 26)!
Usher recently debuted the lyric video for the Roberto Duran-biopic’s title song “Champions,” which he co-wrote with Rubén Blades, Raphael Saadiq and Taura Stinson – Watch below!
“When we created ‘Champions,’ I wanted it to represent two icons standing toe-to-toe fighting for their countries,” Usher told Billboard, who portrays boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the film. “There’s such a relationship that happens within that ring… between Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran. And I wanted to capture that. I wanted Rubén Blades’ interpretation of it to be as pure so he wrote his part and the dialect to go between Spanish and English. I wanted it to be as authentic as possible to offer some hope.”

Hands Of Stone follows the life of Roberto Duran (Ramirez), the Panamanian fighter who made his professional debut in 1968 as a 16 year‐old and retired in 2002 at the age of 50. In June 1980, he defeated Sugar Ray Leonard (Usher) to capture the WBC welterweight title, but shocked the boxing world by returning to his corner in their November rematch, famously saying the words “no mas” (no more) – Watch the trailer below!
