Earlier in the week, Ian and his former girlfriend and co-star Nina Dobrev promoted the show at the CW Upfront Party in the Big Apple.

The 34-year-old Vampire Diaries actor stopped at Ricky’s convenience store to pick up some essentials while trying to replace his lost luggage items.

“Running around NY like a maniac replacing my clothes, luggage &toiletries-This strike in Brussels has really done a number on me…” Ian tweeted.

The finale for TVD aired that evening and [SPOILER ALERT] Nina Dobrev‘s character Elena chose Ian‘s character Damon over Paul Wesley‘s Stefan even after the sire bond was broken.

The CW has renewed three of its tops series – The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Arrow!

“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement (via TV Line). “Not only do Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles‘ Supernatural will have its ninth season next year while Stephen Amell‘s Arrow will go into its second season. Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley‘s The Vampire Diaries will be going into its fifth season!

The Vampire Diaries returned last night on The CW. TVD premiered to great ratings, 3.48 million viewers, and was up nine percent in certain demographics! It was also the best premiere in two years for the series in women 18-34.

Paul Wesley, Candice Accola, and Michael Trevino hit the red carpet at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday (July 22) in Universal City, Calif.

The Vampire Diaries picked up the award for Choice Fantasy/Sci-Fi Show during the evening! Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev won for Choice Sci-Fi Actor and Actress, respectively.

Michael picked up the award for Choice Scene Stealer: Male while Candice won the award for Choice Scene Stealer: Female. Congrats!

FYI: Michael is wearing 511s skinny jeans and custom top – both by Levi’s.
