Check out this new ad for The Vampire Diaries‘ upcoming May sweeps campaign featuring stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley!

The ad, which was released by Entertainment Weekly, asks the question, “Is this where the bloodline ends?”

All new episodes of The Vampire Diaries return on The CW on April 19 and the May sweeps period begins on April 26!

Here’s a recap of where the series left off via EW: “You’ll recall that the latest setback to Operation Kill Klaus is the recently discovered caveat that if you kill an Original, all the vampires in his or her bloodline die. That means before Stefan (Wesley), Elena (Dobrev), and Damon (Somerhalder) can put a missing stake in Klaus (Joseph Morgan), they have to determine if their bloodline (via Katherine and Rose) leads back to Klaus — or if they’d just be losing Tyler (Michael Trevino).”

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley sandwich in Nina Dobrev on the red carpet at the PaleyFest panel for The Vampire Diaries held at the Saban Theatre on Saturday (March 10) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The cast appeared before their fans to dish spoilers for the upcoming season and what is in store for their characters.

Some of the spoilers that they revealed included “what might happen with the Originals, whether Katherine will return and what’s in store for Bonnie’s friendship with Elena,” according to TV Overmind.

FYI: Nina is wearing a Rachel Zoe dress, Rebecca Minkoff clutch, and Jimmy Choo heels.

Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev, and Ian Somerhalder are super sexy on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue.

The stars of The Vampire Diaries spoke about Elena and Damon’s kiss after two years of buildup.

“It’s one of those things that you want to be able to defend,” executive producer Kevin Williamson told the mag. “But even more importantly, you’d rather not defend it. You want it to feel real and right and natural by all the audience.”

Nina also acknowledged the rumors of her real life relationship, saying, “The rumor mills were ‘Is Nina with Ian or is Nina with Paul?’ There was a lot of speculation.”

“Nothing has been confirmed yet,” Ian added coyly.

Here’s the synopsis for TONIGHT’s episode airing 8/7c on The CW: “Sheriff Forbes delivers some disturbing news to Alaric and Elena about the weapon used in a recent murder. In the Salvatore brothers’ escalating quest to kill Klaus, Stefan turns to Bonnie and Abby (guest star Persia White), while Damon reaches out to an old acquaintance for help in setting up an elaborate plan. Intent on a plan of his own, Klaus hosts a strange dinner party, where he reveals another story from his family’s violent past until an unexpected guest brings the party to an end. Meanwhile, Caroline is heartbroken when she is unable to stop a tragedy from unfolding.”

Ian was recently asked about his thoughts on everything that’s happened with Stefan, Damon, and Elena, and if he thought there was a lesser of two evils.

“It’s definitely weird. [Producer] Julie Plec has this way of poetically justifying it, but I … I’ve gotten to the place where I’m just interested in seeing what happens to any of us. I quit asking questions, because I realize they don’t get me anywhere. But in a good way – this thing is just constantly ch-ch-changing!” he told TV Ology.

Here’s the synopsis for next week’s episode titled “Birthdays and Good-Byes”: Although Caroline is in no mood to celebrate her 18th birthday, Elena, Bonnie and Matt surprise her with a small party in an unusual location. Damon and Stefan disagree on the best way to handle Klaus, and a reckless Stefan decides to test his theory by taking things to dangerous extremes. Bonnie is concerned when Elena tells her about Jeremy’s new plans. At a Founder’s meeting, Alaric once again runs into Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto), who is in the middle of an argument with her ex-boyfriend, the medical examiner (guest star David Colin Smith). Tyler refuses to go along with Klaus’ latest demand, and is surprised when Klaus seems to accept his decision.

Tyler (Michael Trevino) continues to make the most of his new abilities as a hybrid, but he has to face the disturbing consequences of his actions as well.

After a terrifying incident, Elena and Alaric (Matthew Davis) grow increasingly concerned about Jeremy’s attitude and, ultimately, his safety. Alaric meets the beautiful Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto, Pretty Little Liars), who is intrigued with his amazing ability to heal. While trying to strike a deal with Klaus, Elena delivers news that truly shocks him.
