Prince Edward & Countess Sophie Make Rare Appearance With Their Children For The Great British Beach Clean Event

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex pose with their children while taking part in the Great British Beach Clean on Sunday afternoon (September 20) in Southsea, United Kingdom.

Their Royal Highnesses, along with Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, volunteered their time alongside other citizens and cleaned up the beach from litter.

The annual initiative, which is led by the Marine Conservation society, tackles ocean pollution, and with help from volunteers, picks up about 319 tons of garbage on the shorelines.

The family of four dressed warmly and walked the beach together, picking up items left over from humans before it washed away into the ocean.

Recently, Sophie has been stepping more into the spotlight, taking over some public appearances from Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, after they left their senior royal roles.

You can see Sophie‘s latest appearance to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Station here.

If you missed it, you can see why Louise and James might never use their royal titles…

Queen Elizabeth II's Youngest Grandchildren, Louise & James, Will Not Use Their Royal Titles

Two more of Queen Elizabeth II‘s grandchildren will not be using their HRH titles when they come of age.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who is married to Prince Edward, revealed that their children, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, will most likely not be using their titles and instead go by just Louise Windsor and James Windsor.

“We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living,” she told The Sunday Times.

Sophie added that she and Edward “made the decision not to use HRH titles” for them when they were born. “They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but it’s highly unlikely.”

Queen Elizabeth‘s two eldest grandchildren, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, who are Princess Anne‘s children, also do not use royal titles.

Sophie also touched on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry leaving the royal family in her interview.
