Evan Rachel Wood Explains Why She Won't Use Siri or Alexa

Evan Rachel Wood is opening up about her work on the HBO series Westworld and how it has led her to being more careful about the technology she uses in real life.

“It certainly has made me look at the world differently. I do not have Alexa. I turn Siri off,” the 32-year-old actress said in a new interview with Variety.

“It genuinely has maybe perked my ears up a little more about things, and just ask more questions. I think there’s a lot of technology out there right now that is moving very rapidly, and so fast that I think it’s hard for a lot of us to keep up,” Evan added. “The more we don’t understand it, then the more out of control we are, and the more vulnerable we are to have it control us in a way.”

Without giving spoilers away right here, make sure to check out what happened at the end of Westworld‘s season three and learn the fate of ERW‘s beloved character.

During their conversation, Tessa opened up about her experience auditioning for the hit HBO show.

“I joined Westworld at the end of Season 1. I sent in an audition tape for the pilot. I was trying to figure out how to play a robot, and then I didn’t get a call back. I never heard anything about it. Much later, there was this chance to play a human on the show. My first scenes were with Jeffrey Wright and with Anthony Hopkins. It felt surreal to occupy this space where I had the power over them. That was bizarre,” she reflected.

She also addressed what’s ahead for her character – and having sex with a robot.

“I had broad ideas: ‘What does power look like in the future, in a young woman of color?’ But the only thing I knew is that I would potentially have sex with a robot. We talked about this woman sampling the merchandise in the park — that would be her expression of power. I continue not to know where the show’s going to take me,” she said.

Westworld creators recently revealed that this character is gone after the Season 3 finale.

“Also we didn’t need @JohnGallagherJr brought back,” the person wrote. “His insufferable run on The Newsroom was enough.”

Since he was tagged, John saw the tweet and had some words for the critic.

“Hey man. Can’t believe you need to be told this but it’s incredibly rude and graceless to tag an actor when criticizing them,” John wrote. “By all means, hate my work and go off on me all you want, plenty critics have, but please don’t @ me when you’re doing it. Thanks.”

New episodes of Westworld season three air on Sunday nights at 9pm ET on HBO.
