The 43-year-old actor recently explained why he wants a pardon for his crime of beating up a man back in 1988.
“I think for most people, the initial reaction was, ‘Oh, well he is very successful now, so he just feels a sense of entitlement, he should get a pardon.’ And it wasn’t about that, the only reason why I felt even confident in asking, whether the answer was yes or no, is because of how much work I’ve done to give back and how much I’ve done to better myself and prevent kids from making the kinds of mistakes and working with inner city kids and at risk youth. That’s why I felt comfortable in asking,” Mark told Yahoo.
Mark added about the man, Johnny Trinh, forgiving him for his crime, “I can’t wait to thank him in person and give him a big hug, and being a devout Catholic, the only way to be forgiven is to forgive for him to come out all these years later and tell the truth.”
