Gal Gadot Reacts to Wonder Woman's Oscar Nomination Snubs

Gal Gadot has the most lovely response to Wonder Woman‘s Oscars nominations snub.

“I was very moved and touched by the people who were disappointed that Wonder Woman wasn’t nominated, but we certainly never did the movie for that,” Gal told ET. “I think that you can’t have it all. We’ve done this movie and it was received in such an amazing, wonderful way, and we want to stay humble and grateful, and we’re going to have another movie, so who knows? Maybe the next one!”

Wonder Woman did not receive any nominations, despite being touted as a possible Best Picture contender. Patty Jenkins, who directed the movie, was also thought to be in the mix for a Directing nomination. Wonder Woman received so much critical acclaim and grossed over $800 million worldwide.

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Beats 'Wonder Woman' for Second-Highest Grossing Movie of 2017

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has become the second-highest grossing movie of 2017, beating out Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman made $412.6 at the box office, and The Last Jedi‘s numbers are now at $423.7 million since opening earlier this month.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will have to make a bit more money to beat out 2017′s top grossing film, Beauty and the Beast, which made $504 million. Deadline reports that the movie could very well beat out Beauty and the Beast and become the top earner in 2017.

'Wonder Woman 2' Is Hitting Theaters Earlier Than Planned!

This is great news for Wonder Woman fans – the sequel will be released earlier than previously planned!

Wonder Woman 2 is now slotted to hit theaters on November 1, 2019. The original release date was for December 13 of that year, so we’ll get to see the film a month and a half earlier than we thought.

Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins are both locked in to work on the film

Reports that Gal refused to sign on for the movie unless Brett Ratner, who was accused of sexual harassment, was not involved are untrue, according to Deadline. Ratner‘s RatPac financed the first film, but he was not listed as a producer on the project. Also, RatPac is not committed to financing the sequel.

Patty Jenkins Officially Signs On to Direct 'Wonder Woman 2'

Patty Jenkins will officially direct Wonder Woman 2!

The celebrated director has closed her deal, according to Variety. She will reportedly become the highest-paid female director of all time thanks to her new gig.

Patty helped make Wonder Woman both a critical and commercial success. The film has grossed over $813 million at the worldwide box office and has made more money than any of the other DC Extended Universe films in the U.S.

Gal Gadot has already signed on to reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. We can’t wait to see it!

Gal Gadot Wishes Happy Birthday to Chris Pine, Her 'Wonder Woman' Co-Star!

Gal Gadot and Chris Pine had amazing on-screen chemistry in their movie Wonder Woman and you can credit that to the fact that they’re great friends in real life!

To help Chris celebrate his 37th birthday on Saturday (August 26), Gal took to Instagram to share a super sweet message.
