Oscar Isaac Has Loved X-Men's Apocalypse Since Childhood

Oscar Isaac hits the carpet while attending Playboy and Gramercy Pictures’ Self/less Party during 2015 Comic-Con Weekend at Parq Restaurant & Nightclub in San Diego, Calif.

Other celebs in attendance at the party included Minority Report‘s Meagan Good, Mr. Robot‘s Rami Malek and VikingsAlexander Ludwig.

Oscar stars in the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse as the title villain. He recently opened up to Buzzfeed about playing the role.

“For me, I’m a huge fan. I was a huge fan, particularly of Apocalypse, since I was a kid. So I feel like since I’m getting the shot to do it, then I can just follow my own discretion because of that,” Oscar said. “And sometimes, what’s fun to do is play against what people would expect, or what people would want you to do, because it is a different medium. To a certain extent, we are embodying certain things that are kind of mythical. If you look at Apocalypse, if you actually were to do or speak in the way that it seems like he should, it would probably be laughable. It doesn’t work, I don’t think, in this medium.”

FYI: Oscar is wearing rag & bone.

'X-Men: Apocalypse': First Look at Psylocke, Magneto & Apocalypse!

Here’s your very first look at Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and the villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) in character for this X-Men: Apocalypse EW cover!

“The problem with Days of Future Past is it’s hard to sequelize,” writer-producer Simon Kinberg, who’s been with the franchise since 2006, told the mag. “Whenever we talked about the sequel, the challenge was that it needed to feel not necessarily bigger visually, but that the stakes needed to feel bigger.”

“It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction,” director Bryan Singer said about the movie. “It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs special assistants in this process.”

The film will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.

Halle Berry Tells Comic-Con She Wants to Play Storm Again!

Halle Berry and her Extant co-star Jeffrey Dean Morgan visit SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly booth at 2015 Comic-Con on Thursday (July 9) at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, Calif.

The actors both appeared on a panel for their CBS series that day and Halle told the crowd she would love to do a standalone movie based on her X-Men character Storm one day.

“In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie,” Halle elaborated in an interview with Deadline. “I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it’s before I’m 65-years old I would absolutely do that. I think they should do it. If the fans want that the fans need to speak up and I’m sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie I’m sure they would do it.”

FYI: Halle is wearing a Marios Schwab dress.
