Rapper YNW Melly Says He's Dying in Prison From Coronavirus

Rapper YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, is reportedly dying in prison from Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) and his lawyer wants him released.

The 20-year-old is suffering from “suffering from severe chills, heavy labored breathing, headaches and body aches,” TMZ reports. His lawyer is alleging that the prison in Florida is not handling the pandemic appropriately, stating, “they have not given them masks, or cleaning supplies that would be beneficial regarding his recovery. This is against all recommendations of the Surgeon General and CDC.”

His lawyer added that Melly is down to 114 pounds and he’s being kept with another inmate with Coronavirus and there’s concern “if the virus can be mutated or passed reoccurring between individuals.” He’s also reportedly not being monitored every hour like he’s supposed to be.

He was diagnosed last week. He was arrested and charged with double murder last year.
