Baseball legend Yogi Berra has passed away at the age of 90.
The former baseball player died on Tuesday night (September 22), the Yogi Berra Museum confirmed.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Yogi Berra passed away Tuesday night at the age of 90,” the museum wrote on Twitter.
Yogi played almost his entire 19-year career with the New York Yankees and the team tweeted its sympathies after the news broke. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of a Yankees legend and American hero, Yogi Berra,” the team tweeted.
Yogi, who was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, died on the same day that he made his debut in the MLB sixty-nine years before.
