Zac Efron flashes a grin while watching the season opener of the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Dallas Mavericks held at the Staples Center Tuesday (October 30) in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old actor was joined by a pal for the game, which went to the Mavericks 99-91.

Zac Efron is all suited up on the cover of Backstage magazine’s latest issue.
Here’s what the 24-year-old actor had to share with the mag:
On what makes him work hard: “I might not be the greatest actor, but I walk in to every project willing to work hard. There are a lot of people who can slide on talent their whole lives; they’re just naturally gifted. I’ve never considered myself one of those people. I enjoy outworking the opposition.”
On his role in The Paperboy: “It’s crucial for me to be finding roles that I don’t necessarily have the answers to. I’m proud to say I was courageous enough to step into a part I didn’t fully understand and followed my director blindly.”
On taking a role in a franchise: “It’s not that I’m opposed to doing a big-budget action movie. But it has to be the right project. I don’t know that I’ve earned the right to hold a gun, if that makes sense. I need to pay my dues.”

On the show, Zac even chatted about his recent trip to the Philippines.
“We found that the best way to really explore the culture is to actually taste all the food. The first thing we tried is balut’ It’s kind of a weird thing. What they do is they fertilize the duck egg, and it sort of matures inside the egg,” he shared as the host played a video clip of Zac trying the local food for the first time.

The film is about a reporter (McConaughey) who returns to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate (Cusack).
Zac plays the role of Jack Jansen, Matthew plays Ward Jansen, John plays Hillary Van Wetter, and Nicole plays Charlotte Bless.
Earlier today, Zac‘s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, during which he talked about the scene in the film where he dances in his underwear with Nicole. He mentioned that the scene was totally improvised at Nicole‘s suggestion!

The 24-year-old actor talked about dancing in his underwear with Nicole Kidman for their upcoming movie The Paperboy, which hits limited theaters this Friday.
“Nicole is so amazing to work with. She’s also very improvisational and when she finds the character she can sort of maneuver in and out of the lines,” Zac said. “You never know what to expect. This was supposed to be a very serious scene. It was a sort of an intense dramatic moment for me. So I was very prepared to give my all in a dramatic moment and before I knew it music starts to turn up around me and she kind of looks at me and says “You want to dance?” And they’re still rolling so I can’t really say cut. And before I knew it we were improvising an entire dance in the rain.. It’s one of my favorite scenes in the movie.”

Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Amanda Seyfried, and Leonardo DiCaprio urge people to vote in this new video for Vote 4 Stuff.
The stars were joined by Leo‘s Great Gatsby co-star Tobey Maguire, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen DeGeneres, Jonah Hill, Sarah Silverman, Edward Norton, and Benecio Del Toro in the video telling people to send out tweets and to make videos about the issues they feel deserve presidential attention.
“This is one of the most important elections of our lifetime,” Leonardo said. “We are using the power of social media throughout the Vote 4 Stuff campaign to incite bipartisan conversation around real issues, encourage registration and voting in November.”
