Zachary Levi Announces Official Title for 'Shazam!' Sequel!

The Shazam! sequel has an official title!

Zachary Levi and co-stars Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, and Adam Brody joined director David F. Sandberg during the 2020 DC FanDomee virtual fan convention on Saturday (August 22).

While they didn’t give away a lot of info about the sequel, they did announce that it will be titled Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Also during the virtual panel, it was announced that Sinbad is joining the cast!

“Sinbad, are you in Shazam 2?” Zachary asked.

“You tell me, John Krazinski, am I? Because everybody though I was in ‘Shazam 1’ before it even existed — Google it,” Sinbad joked, referencing internet theories that he’d starred in a comedy about a genie called “Shazam” in the 1990s.

In the end, Sinbad did confirm that he will be appearing in the Shazam sequel.

As of right now, Shazam: Fury of the Gods is scheduled to hit theaters on November 4, 2022.

Zachary Levi Talks The Future Of 'Shazam 2' Amid Shutdowns

Zachary Levi is promising fans that plans for Shazam 2 are still on track, despite Hollywood shutdowns due to coronavirus.

The 39-year-old actor, who plays the titular character in the film, spoke to ET about what’s happening with the movie.

“Right now, they’re writing an amazing script,” Zach shared. “I don’t have any real details on that. I’ve got some generals and they all sound amazing.”

He also acknowledged that whenever the movie is back on track and starts shooting, it will be a new normal for the industry and come with new rules.

“There’s definitely going to be some major protocols that are put in place,” he added. “What those protocols are, I’m not sure yet. I’m doing my own due diligence as an actor waiting to go back to work, but also as a producer and someone who’s trying to create my own world out here in which to produce. I’ve been actively trying to figure out when the gears can start moving a bit again, but I don’t know for sure.”

Shazam 2 got a new release date in December, just months before Hollywood, and many other things, shut down because of the pandemic.

As of right now, Shazam 2 is set to release in November 2022.

'Chuck' Cast & Creators Discuss Movie Possibilities

More Chuck might be in the future!

Earlier this week, the stars and co-creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak of the hit series reunited on Zoom for table read of episode “Chuck vs. the Beard” from season three.

Cast members on the call included Zachary Levi (Chuck Bartowski), Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah Walker), Adam Baldwin (Colonel John Casey), Joshua Gomez (Morgan Grimes), Sarah Lancaster (Ellie Bartowski), Ryan McPartlin (Captain Awesome), Vik Sahay (Lester Patel), Scott Krinsky (Jeff Barnes), Mark Christopher Lawrence (Big Mike), Brandon Routh (Daniel Shaw), and guest-stars Cedric Yarbrough and Diedrich Bader.

After the virtual reunion, the co-creators were asked if they would ever consider doing a movie or some sort of revival – and they said it’s definitely a possibility!

“I would say within the first 10 seconds of the table read, everybody fell so effortlessly back into their parts and the chemistry was still there, and it was just such a joy to watch that we both hung up from the table [and] were like, ‘Damn, it feels like we could more of this,’” Josh shared with EW. “I think it would really be about, what’s the story and what’s the demand? I think we’re really proud of the legacy of the show and the series it felt, so anything that you do after the fact you want to make sure it feels like it would live up to the original.”

Chuck ran for five seasons from 2007 to 2012.
