Zero Dark Thirty has topped this weekend’s box office with a gross of $24.5 million!

The film is in its fourth week of release, but took the No. 1 spot as it opened nationwide for the first time. It was recently nominated for five Oscars, including a Best Actress nod for Jessica Chastain. It’s also up for four Golden Globes this evening.

Coming in second was the new paranormal thriller A Haunted House, which raked in $18.8 million, according to THR.

In third with nearly $17 million was the Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone crime film Gangster Squad.

Rounding out the top five were Django Unchained and Les Miserables, which brought in a total of $11 and $10 million, respectively.

• Designer Rachel Roy will be celebrating her 39th birthday on Tuesday (January 15) and she’s enlisting help from her fans to raise money for charity:water. “For my 39th birthday on January 15, in lieu of spending any money on a dinner or a party or presents, I am asking friends and family to donate to my charity water campaign and help make my birthday truly meaningful by helping to provide clean water,” Rachel said. The screening was hosted by Jessica‘s Wilde Salome co-star Al Pacino in celebration of her performance in the Oscar-worthy flick.

Jessica was also joined by her Take Shelter co-star Michael Shannon and legendary actress Joan Collins at the event.

Zero Dark Thirty starts a limited engagement in theaters TOMORROW (December 19).

Jessica Chastain hops out of her car with her adorable pup Chaplin while arriving for the matinee performance of The Heiress on Saturday (December 15) in New York City.

The SAG and Golden Globe nominated actress took to her Facebook page to defend her film Zero Dark Thirty against people claiming the flick has political motives.

“There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the motives of ZD30. I’m not interested in being in a film that pushes a political agenda,” Jes wrote. “This is a movie that asks questions of the audience. The filmmakers aren’t interested in answering those question. We must leave the theatre and begin a conversation about our American history. We must ask, where have we been? And where do we intend to go from here?”

Jessica Chastain is classic at the premiere of her upcoming flick Zero Dark Thirty held at the Dolby Theatre on Monday (December 10) in Hollywood.

The Oscar nominated star of the film was joined on the red carpet by her cast mates Chris Pratt, who was accompanied by wife Anna Faris, James Gandolfini, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Edgar Ramirez, and Harold Perrineau. Also at the premiere was the director Kathryn Bigelow.

Zero Dark Thirty hits theaters on January 11 – be sure to catch this highly buzzed about film! In fact, Zero Dark Thirty just won Best Film and Best Actress (Jessica) from the National Board of Review.

Jessica Chastain looks lovely in a floral dress at a photo call for her new film Zero Dark Thirty on Tuesday (December 4) at the Ritz Carlton Central Park South in New York City.

The Oscar nominated actress, who is buzzed to be a frontrunner for the award once again, was joined by her co-stars Kyle Chandler and Jason Clarke, and filmmakers Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal.

The night before, Jessica attended a screening of the film in the Big Apple after looking beautiful in blue at the film’s press junket in the afternoon.

Variety said Jessica “shows she has the chops to embody the pic’s iron-nerved protag, holding her own in the testosterone-thick world of CIA black sites and top-level Washington boardrooms.” We can’t wait to see the film!
