Mindy Kaling: Dwight Should Run ‘The Office’

Mindy Kaling thinks Dwight Schrute could handle being regional manager of Dunder Mifflin!

The 31-year-old actress and writer, who plays Kelly Kapoor on The Office, told EW‘s Michael Ausiello that she’d “love to see Rainn Wilson [as boss].”

“Dwight has become so nuanced – you actually care about him now,” Mindy said. “I think if [we did a good job laying the groundwork] this coming season he would be a fantastic boss.”

“But that’s my dream,” Mindy added. “It certainly hasn’t been approved by people that are more powerful than me and who make those kind of decisions.”

Steve Carell, who plays Michael Scott, has said that he is ready to leave The Office after next season is complete.
