An Evening With Reese Witherspoon

The Gene Siskel Film Center hosts An Evening with Reese Witherspoon held at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago on Saturday (June 23) in Chicago, Ill.

Two time Academy Award winner Alexander Payne, who directed The Descendants and Sideways, presented the 36-year-old pregnant actress with the Gene Siskel Film Center Renaissance Award.

“Reese Witherspoon is truly a Renaissance woman, demonstrated by her wide range of memorable roles in such varied films as Pleasantville, Cruel Intentions, Election, and the Legally Blonde films.” GSFC has said. “Her extraordinary performance as June Carter Cash in Walk The Line earned her the 2006 Academy Award for Best Actress, a BAFTA, Golden Globe Award®, Screen Actors Guild Award, New York Film Critics Award, Broadcast Film Critics Award, People’s Choice Award in addition to 11 other honors.”
