Reese Witherspoon Steps Out After ‘Rodham’ Casting Rumors

Reese Witherspoon and her hubby Jim Toth are all smiles while leaving the Veggie Grill Restaurant after having lunch together on Wednesday afternoon (May 29) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 37-year-old actress is reportedly in the running to play Hillary Clinton in the upcoming biopic Rodham, according to the UK’s Sunday Times.

Reese is one of the frontrunners along with Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Chastain, and Amanda Seyfried.

“They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position,” Rodham director James Ponsoldt told the paper. “Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.”
