Matt Bomer Talks Losing 35 Pounds for 'Normal Heart' Role

Matt Bomer suits up while attending the 2014 College Television Award Gala held on Wednesday (April 23) at the Television Academy Foundation headquarters in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance at the event were Scandal‘s Darby Stanchfield, Revenge‘s Nick Wechsler, New Girl‘s Max Greenfield, Dexter‘s Aimee Garcia, and Teen Wolf‘s JR Bourne.

Matt recently chatted with Details about losing weight for his role in The Normal Heart.

“I stopped weighing myself after losing 35 pounds,” Matt said. “I thought the number wasn’t the important thing to focus on. This wasn’t Biggest Loser.”

“[Matthew McConaughey] called me and walked me through what he did,” he added. “It was very generous, but I took a slightly different path.”
