Kristin Chenoweth is Maleficent for Disney's 'Descendants'!

Kristin Chenoweth has landed the role of Maleficent in the upcoming Disney Channel original movie Descendants!

The acclaimed actress will portray the famed villain, and butt horns with her on-screen daugher, Mal, played by Dove Cameron, in the flick.

The project is set in a present-day idyllic kingdom where the benevolent teenage son of King Beast and Queen Belle, Ben offers a chance at redemption for the troublemaking offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar. It will start production in late May.

Also starring in the pic are Booboo Stewart as Jay, Jafar’s son, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, Cruella de Vil’s son, and Sofia Carson, as Evie, the daughter of Snow White’s Evil Queen, as well as Mitchell Hope, who stars as Ben, the son of Belle and the Beast.
