Octavia Spencer's 'Black & White' Co-Star Anthony Mackie Believes Racism Is Taught to Kids

Octavia Spencer adds a splash of blue while arriving at a press conference for her new movie Black and White during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival held at TIFF Bell Lightbox on Sunday (September 7) in Toronto, Canada.

The 44-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Kevin Costner, Anthony Mackie, Bill Burr, Mpho Koaho, and Jillian Estell.

“I’m a firm believer that racism is ignorance, it’s something that’s taught,” Anthony shared at the press conference.

He added, “A child is not born racist and I feel that as a generation we need to get out of the way of the coming generation and allow them to be the best that they can be and not allow our sh-t to convolute their view of the world.”
