'Time' Magazine's Person of the Year 2014 is the Ebola Fighters in West Africa

Time magazine has named its Person of the Year for 2014 and this year the honor goes to Ebola Fighters who have been on the ground helping fight the deadly illness in West Africa.

Specifically, the magazine has chosen to honor select individuals including Dr. Jerry Brown, Salame Karwah, Foday Gallah, and two Americans: Dr. Kent Brantly and Ella Watson-Stryker, all of whom made significant contributions to the cause.

Nancy Gibbs, Time editor, stood by the decision to honor the individuals, saying, “The rest of the world can sleep at night because a group of men and women are willing to stand and fight.”
