Lena Dunham Deletes Twitter Ahead of Golden Globes 2015

Lena Dunham is smashing in red at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 28-year-old actress was joined by her Girls co-star Andrew Rannells.

“I deleted Twitter because I’m trying to create a safer space for myself emotionally,”
“I check it occasionally, but it’s not the same codependence Twitter and I once shared,” Lena shared on the red carpet.

She added, “The dark side of the Internet. There’s a lot of people I love on Twitter, but unfortunately you can’t read those without reading deranged neo-cons telling you you should be buried under a pile of rocks.”

Lena is nominated for Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for her work on Girls, competing against Taylor Schilling, Edie Falco, Gina Rodriguez, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
