Cate Blanchett Will Direct Australian TV Drama 'Stateless'!

Cate Blanchett is picture perfect while arriving at the 2015 Helpmann Awards at the Capitol Theatre on Monday (July 27) in Sydney, Australia.

The 46-year-old actress was accompanied by her husband Andrew Upton at the event honoring distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia’s vibrant live performance sectors, including musical theatre.

It was recently announced that Cate is set to develop and direct a new television series, Stateless, based on the life of Cornelia Rau.

“Stateless will be Cate Blanchett‘s first venture into high-end TV,” said Screen Australia who is funding the script’s development by writer Elise McCredie (via Deadline).

“Inspired by the incredible true story of Cornelia Rau, Stateless is a powerful and timely series about identity, belonging and the extraordinary lengths people will go to find their place in the world.”
