Kelly Rutherford Divulges Painful Details About Her Custody Battle

Kelly Rutherford is opening up about the painful details about her divorce and custody battle with her ex Daniel Giersch, who she shares kids Hermes, 8, and Helena, 6.

“Daniel was subtly verbally abusive,” the 46-year-old actress told Vanity Fair. “He was trying to alienate me from everyone in my life�”my parents, my brother.”

“I didn’t want any money from Daniel,” Kelly said of her divorce. “I wanted us both to be great parents. I wasn’t asking for full custody. Daniel made me go through a custody evaluation while I was pregnant. He sued me like he’d sued Google. He served me custody papers right up until I went into labor.”

“Hermes says, ‘Mommy, I don’t want to go back and forth.’ My children and I have lost years of dailiness. How do you get those years back? There is no way I am not going to fight to get my children back.”

Kelly‘s former co-star on Gossip Girl Ed Westwick also spoke to the mag.

“She was how you would want your ideal mother to be. Most of the rest of us were teenagers and she was like our mother,” Ed said.
