Empire's Serayah Chooses Her Favorite Lyon Brother

Here is what the 20-year-old Empire actress had to share with the mag:

On Jussie Smollett‘s Jamal being her favorite Lyon brother: “If I had to pick, it would probably be him because I think he’s embellished a lot of things on the show. And even being a part of the series, I still get really excited to see him perform.”

On her southern California upbringing: “Having to move a lot, whether it’s for work or whatever it is, it’s helped me see a lot. Growing up in LA has definitely given me, what I want to say is a humbleness that I carry with me. When you grow up there, you appreciate where you’re from, rather than seeing it as this untouchable Hollywood idea. I still carry that Hometown Glory with me, though. I love Southern California and how laid back it is, the energy. I also love being by the beach, so being a drive away from one is never something to complain about.”

On the Empire sets: “Believe it or not, our sets are one of my favorite pieces of this puzzle. They’re so stunning, and they really help us as artists and actors to get into that creative space, where we become those people.”
