'Star Wars' Fans Freak Out When Projector Breaks (Video)

One screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens came to a halt early Friday morning (December 18) when the projector broke at the ArcLight Hollywood theater.

“Arclight’s 3D projectors malfunction during the opening day showing of Star Wars. Several green bars begin to appear as the movie progresses; black spots appear as well to block the right eye from seeing the film,” a moviegoer wrote in the YouTube caption. “Just when they stop the film, they promise to fix it and return to a previous time before the bars appeared. Instead of restoring a to a previous point, they jump ahead! Fans begin to scream at the spoilers unveiled to them. They stop the film again and just before we think all is well, THEY DO IT AGAIN! The video takes place after their first few disappointments.

Another moviegoer updated on Facebook about the glitch.

“Projector at Star Wars midnight 3D show at the Arclight ruined, stopped, then started again towards the end of the movie,” Erik Melendez wrote on Facebook. “The movie was spoiled and everyone in the theater went crazy.”
