'Hairspray' Will Be NBC's 2016 Live Musical!

The musical Hairspray will be NBC’s next big hit musical coming off of the success of The Wiz Live.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will return to executive produce the live event. They have taken part in The Wiz Live, Peter Pan, and The Sound of Music, as well.

“That title seems really fun and I think it will be really great live,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said at the TCA Tour on Wednesday (January 13).

Neil and Craig also produced the 2007 film remake of Hairspray, which featured Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky, among many others.
