Daniel Bryan Announces WWE Retirement Due to Health Concerns

WWE superstar Daniel Bryan announced his retirement from wrestling on Monday (February 8) on his Twitter.

The 38-year-old athlete, who is married to Total Divas star Brie Bella, tweeted, “Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I’ll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude”

That evening during the broadcast, Daniel explained that concussions over the course of his career had effected his health, which had put him on leave since April of last year.

“It gets to a point when you’ve been wrestling for 16 years that that adds up to a lot of concussions, and it gets to a point where they tell you that you can’t wrestle anymore,” he explained.

Daniel then revealed that a week ago he took a test which told him, “maybe my brain isn’t as OK as I thought it was.”

He also expressed extreme gratitude for his fans. We wish Daniel luck in his next ventures!
