Jay Z Alleges Tidal Misrepresented Subscriber Numbers to Him

Jay Z leaves Roc Nation headquarters after an afternoon of meetings on Wednesday (March 30) in New York City.

The 46-year-old rapper and mogul is reportedly suing the early owners of Tidal for allegedly misrepresenting the amount of users when the company was sold to him in March 2015.

“Panther has learned that the actual number of subscribers at that point in time was significantly lower and that the amount represented in the due diligence documents were greatly overstated,” Jay Z‘s firm wrote in a letter to Tidal’s former owners (via WSJ).

An audit showed that the actual number of Tidal subscribers was “well below the 540,000 reported to us by the prior owners.”
