Watch The Color Purple's 'I'm Here' Performed in ASL (Video)

Treshelle Edmond, a deaf woman who recently made her Broadway debut in Spring Awakening, gives a beautiful interpretation of another hit theater song in this new video.

The actress performs The Color Purple‘s eleven o’clock number “I’m Here” and she is getting praise from the musical’s current Celie, Cynthia Erivo!

“This means a lot to me!! @TreshelleEdmond you are amazing xx,” she tweeted.

Both of the ladies will likely perform at the Tony Awards next weekend. Cynthia is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work in The Color Purple, which is also up for Best Revival of a Musical against Treshelle‘s Spring Awakening!
