Penn Badgley Speaks Out About Recent Violence During MTV Town Hall

Penn Badgley gets serious while making an appearance on MTV and BET News special What Now? on Friday (July 8) in New York City.

The 29-year-old actor and musician was joined by hosts Jordan Carlos, Marc Lamont Hill and Jamil Smith to discuss the recent acts of violence across America.

During the show, Penn explained he was there in “learning mode” and also took the opportunity to dicuss white privilege and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The special was intended to be “an open forum of artists, activists and audience members discussing the issues underlying this latest round in a cycle of violence and tragedy in America.”
