Sam Heughan shows off his muscles while leaving the gym on Wednesday (July 20) in New York City.

The 36-year-old Outlander actor stepped out later in the day to run some errands.

Sam recently joked about his goals for season three.

“I’m thinking about getting really fat,” Sam told Vulture. “I’m thinking eating a lot and not working out would be really good.”

“Do we really want to see that?” Sam added. “It’s going to be a completely different show. Next year’s stuff is probably the most interesting, in a way. We’ve been setting it up, setting the stage, introducing these characters, and now it goes into new, different worlds.”
