Kelly Clarkson Defends Michelle Obama's Mention of Slaves in DNC Speech

Kelly Clarkson took to Twitter to praise Michelle Obama for her speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night (July 25) and she later defended it as well.
“Damn! Just saw @MichelleObama speech at DNC tonight! That was amazing!! Love her 🎉🎉🎉 #imwithher #clinton,” Kelly initially tweeted.
One of Kelly‘s fans replied to her saying, “I’m not sure I liked the part where she said the White House was built by slaves.”
“Pretty certain the slaves that built it didn’t like it either,” Kelly said in response.
During the speech, Michelle talked about President Obama‘s historic legacy and how they “wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.”
