Mackenzie Foy Lands Lead in Disney’s ‘The Nutcracker’

Mackenzie Foy will join Misty Copeland in Disney’s upcoming The Nutcracker movie.

The 15-year-old actress, who starred in Interstellar opposite Matthew McConaughey, has landed the lead role of Clara for the live action movie, Variety reports.

The film will be based on E.T.A. Hoffman‘s Christmas Eve tale about a young girl who finds a Nutcracker doll with her family’s presents and is given the responsibility to take care it. At night, the Nutcracker comes to life, along with an evil Mouse King who introduce the little girl to the magical world of toys.
