Reba McEntire Sets TV Return in ABC's New Marc Cherry Series

Reba McEntire is set to return to television in a potential new soap series from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry!

The untitled project landed at ABC after a bidding war and Reba is attached to star in her first dramatic role. Marc will executive produce the series and serve as showrunner.

The new series is “described as a Southern Gothic soap opera that is set in motion after a suspected act of terrorism happens at a Fourth of July parade in the small town of Oxblood, KY. The FBI sends a cocky agent of Middle Eastern descent to investigate. He teams with the mercurial local sheriff to uncover secrets far darker than either could have ever imagined,” according to THR.

Reba last starred on television in the ABC comedy series Malibu Country, which lasted one season from 2012-2013.
