President Donald Trump Slams White House Correspondents' Dinner, Says He's 'Thrilled' Not to be There

President Donald Trump is speaking out against tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

While speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania celebrating his 100th day in office, the 70-year-old president slammed the event that happens to be going on at the same time in Washington DC.

“A large group of Hollywood actors and Washington media are consoling each other in a hotel ballroom in our nation’s capitol right now,” Trump said as the crowds booed. “They are gathered together for a White House Correspondents’ Dinner without the president.”

Trump continued: “I could not possibly be more thrilled to be more than 100 miles away from the Washington swamp … with much better people.”

Trump is the first president to skip out on a White House Correspondents’ Dinner since President Ronald Reagan in 1981 as he recovered from a gun shot wound.
