'American Idol' Reportedly Signs Deal With ABC For Reboot

After rumors of an American Idol reboot heading to ABC, the reality show has reportedly signed a deal with the network.

According to Variety, the two parties have agreed on the framework for an agreement to bring back the show.

If the deal is closed, ABC is expected to announce the return of American Idol during their upfront presentation next week.

American Idol‘s new network could also mean that former host Ryan Seacrest will return, as he just signed on to co-host their morning show Live! alongside Kelly Ripa.

Former contestant Kelly Clarkson is reportedly in talks to return as a judge while Simon Cowell has an exclusivity deal with NBC that will prevent him from returning.
