22 Fatalities & 59 Injuries Confirmed After Explosion at Ariana Grande's Manchester Concert

Official reports are now confirming that 22 people have died at Ariana Grande‘s concert in Manchester, England.

In addition to the fatalities, officials are confirming that 59 people were injured following the explosion.

Manchester Arena has also issued a statement concerning the incident, confirming that it took place outside the venue.

“We can confirm there was an incident as people were leaving the Ariana Grande show last night. The incident took place outside the venue in a public space. Our thoughts are prayers go out to the victims,” the statement read on their Twitter.

Ariana‘s reps have confirmed that she is okay, but she has yet to release a statement about the incident.

Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and their families right now.

UPDATE (May 23, 2:15am ET): The death toll has risen from 19 to 22 and the amount injured from 50 to 59. Officials confirm that some of the fatalities are children. Also, the “lone male attacker, who died in the blast, was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated,” according to BBC News.
