'The Bachelor' Finale Spoilers - Recapping the 'Unedited' Scene

The most dramatic finale of The Bachelor has arrived and we finally know what went down in that “unedited” scene that has been teased by host Chris Harrison.

During the finale, Arie Luyendyk Jr. proposed to one of his final two women in Peru, but weeks later he decided to call off the engagement in hopes of pursuing a relationship with the other woman.

Arie blindsided his “winner” by telling her that he wants to break up… all while the cameras were still rolling. The scene was aired completely unedited with a split screen to show the angles from both cameras that filmed the moment.

Chris says that this is the first time that any reality show has ever aired an unedited clip to this extent.

When Arie showed up at the house for the “happy couples” weekend with Becca, she immediately knew something was up when he asked her to talk. He admitted his feelings and that he wanted to pursue a relationship with Lauren and she was completely blindsided.

“The reality of it is that being with you, although it’s been everything that I wanted, I still think about her,” Arie said. “And I think you sense that and I think, for me, the more I hung out with you the more I felt like I was losing the possibility of reconciling things with Lauren.”

“When I spoke to her I just realized that there was all that feeling there still,” he added. “We left Peru and I didn’t want to be as honest with you as I could’ve been about how conflicted I was. I tried to deal with that emotion and I leaned on everybody that I could about how to get over that heartbreak and I thought that heartbreak would go away and it just never went away. And I don’t think it’s fair to be half in with you. I don’t think it’s fair for us to continue and to know that my head’s somewhere else. I want to take the risk and see if there’s a possibility with her.”

Becca eventually told Arie that she had enough and she told him to leave. The cameras kept rolling as she went into the bathroom and broke down.

Arie left, but then went back inside the house and she wanted nothing to do with him. “This is so f–king embarrassing. To think you had a future…” Becca said as Arie continued to ask to talk. He started rubbing her should and she told him to not touch her.
