Did 'Tomb Raider' Beat 'Black Panther' at Weekend Box Office?

It was a showdown at the box office this weekend between Chadwick Boseman‘s Black Panther, which was released five weeks ago, and Alicia Vikander‘s Tomb Raider, which was released on Friday.

Black Panther ended up reigning supreme with $27 million earned this weekend, while Tomb Raider came in second at the box office with $23.5 million. Black Panther has surpassed $600 million at the domestic box office!

Dennis Quaid‘s I Can Only Imagine came in third place at the box office with $17 million earned.

Rounding out the top five were A Wrinkle in Time, which made $16.5 million, and new movie Love, Simon, which earned $11.5 million. Love, Simon, starring Nick Robinson, opened this past weekend has had rave reviews!
